MEMPHIS, TN – There’s a hamburger, of course; a cheeseburger, chili cheeseburger, an avocado burger and one and on; but has there ever been a peanut butter burger?

The answer is yes.

If it doesn’t sound good, don’t scoff. Combining America’s favorite fast-food with peanut butter could get one Memphis kid a ride to college.

“He really does cook,” said Kim Guleff, “this is not me going in the kitchen, creating a recipe and saying he did it. That didn’t happen.”

Nine year old Logan Guleff was a finalist last year in the Kid’s Science Challenge; this year he entered Jif’s most creative peanut butter sandwich contest.

“Choosy mothers, choose Jif,” blare decades-old commercials for the well known peanut butter.

“We have Jif, we use Jif,” said Kim, “it’s in the pantry.”

So, Logan went to work creating his “Chomp Burger”.

"Nobody ever thought about putting peanut butter with turkey,” Logan told abc24.com.

Well, not until Logan came along.

“First we have some ground white turkey,” said Logan, “then a tablespoon of yakisoba sauce; then we add the raw garlic.”

There’s other stuff in Logan’s recipe, but you know the showstopper.

“Last, but not least,” said Logan, “the Jif natural creamy peanut butter.”

Then, mix it all up, roll it in corn starch, dip it in chopped peanuts and throw it on the grill till it sizzles.

To finish, add broccoli slaw, special sauce, a slice of apple and it was go time- time to take a bite.

Despite misgivings it was pretty good, but where did the recipe come from?

“Logan has a unique palette,” said his mother, “he eats food normal kids don’t eat. I’m not sure who’s child he is (laughing)."

You can vote for Logan’s Chomp Burger until February 1, 2012 at jif.com; he’s one of ten finalists. The top five win a trip to New York, the top two appear on the Today Show.

The winner receives $35,000 for college. Now that’s tasty.

Since you're from Frayser, I understand why this is hard for you to believe, but outside of Frayser most people have the ability to "learn" new things.

Come on....a nine year old having Yakisoba sauce? Or even knowing what corn starch IS, for crying out loud!
