A federal grand jury has indicted a Memphis man who was allegedly paid to have stand-ins take the certification tests for Mid-South teachers.

@4dateachers, first of all, let me say how funny/ironic it is that the only person defending the "teachers" who cheated the system has such poor grammar. You can blame the parents all you want to but we don't get to choose who kid's parents are like we can teachers. The worse the parents are, the more important it is for the teachers to be honorable and respectable people. They are role models for our children and have one of the most important jobs in the world.

The state department need to go back and evaluate there certification process. Passing a test do not make you a good teacher. I do not agree with what he did but this is some people lively hood with the economy being so bad. To deal with other people children everyday should count for something. And the test scores are low because the parents are not teaching their kids at home how to respect authority, work hard, and do your best

Bumford, I mean mumford sux. Think of all the kids that have had problems getting through school. Not because of testing out, but because of fake teachers unprepared to teach any child.

He doesn't have the sense God gave a ball bearing. And this isn't racial...if he did it in Memphis or elsewhere, it affects all students. Become an educator for 2 grand.
