I'm sick and tired of all the right wingers and religious people who babble on about the sanctity of life at the same time treating the most beautiful of creatures as something to be exploited and used.

Kaykay, thank you for validating my point. Now that you've officially announced what a terrific person you are I'm sure things will take a turn for the better. Evil doers beware, it's time to change your wicked ways now that you know that kaykay has 2 rescued dogs! Crisis averted.

Golden Taint - you have a lot to say for not knowing anything. There are a lot of us that HAVE adopted dogs. I have two rescue dogs and to be honest, I can't take on anymore at this point. So I have done my part and what's left to do is urge others to do their part. You can't just come on here and assume these people protesting haven't done their part.

Guess I need to shut up because I'm too grounded in reality and truth upsets your hippie trance. You dumbasses who think that you can rid the world of evil by posting comments about how good of a person you are irritate me. All I'm saying is, talk is cheap. If you bleeding heart hippies want to have more success saving dogs you should physically go save dogs. Better yet, you could addopt a human child and REALLY do something important. a dog is a dog, a cat is a cat, and a squirrel is a rat. There are children starving to death somewhere in the world right now while you worry about animals.

The people that hurt animals usually gone on to hurt people. We see it time and time again. This situation at the Memphis Animal Shelter is inexcuseable. It appears that it takes a march to get something done. Golden Taint should shut up. The animal shelter needs decent employees that will give their all to help these animals. For the record, I have personally never had a dog that stabbed me in the back the way personal family members have done. We have five dogs right now, four of which were foundlings. Maybe if there were appropriate punishment for animal abuse, it would send a message and eventually cut down on people abuse.

I think that we have a lot bigger problems in this city. I like animals more than most, but they are still just animals. All these hippies need to march their asses inside the shelter and adopt some animals if they feel so strongly about how important it is. You know, try to actually do something instead of complaining that someone else isn't doing it. Like dude below says, we live in a city where people murder each other on a daily basis for less than the cost of a bag of dog food.

Why would anyone doubt that animals are mistreated in a community that mistreats each other on a daily basis.

They are right about the culture, Memphis treats animals different then otherbparts of the country. This is ingrained from birth and will be hard to change if not impossible.
