MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - The man accused of fatally shooting a man during a Memphis carjacking then robbing a convenience store in Tunica was apprehended in New Albany, Mississippi.
27-year-old Michael Bonsky was arrested March 27 on charged of First Degree Murder, Attempted First Degree Murder and Carjacking. Investigators say Bonsky shot 29-year-old Roy Townsel and a 21-year-old female victim during a carjacking in the Orange Mound area just after 10:30 p.m. on March 25. Townsel was pronounced dead on the scene; the female victim was taken to The MED in critical condition.
The next day, the Tunica County Sheriff's Department says Bonsky robbed a convenience store at Highway 61 and Casino Center around 3:30 a.m.
Michael Bonsky is currently being held at the DeSoto County Jail.
