MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - The man accused of gunning down a teen at a Memphis apartment complex in August was captured in Florida and is now behind bars at the Shelby County Jail.

Officers were called to the Eastwood Apartments on Getwell Road near Knight Arnold around 7:15 a.m. on Thursday, August 9. When they arrived, police found 19-year-old Markeith Bonhanon in the courtyard area with a gunshot wound. An ambulance was called, and paramedics pronounced the victim dead on the scene.

Investigators identified 32-year-old Robert Townsend as a suspect in the case and issued a warrant for his arrest on August 20. Townsend was arrested in Daytona Beach, Florida on August 28 and extradited back to Shelby County.

Robert Townsend is charged with First Degree Murder. He is being held without bond and is scheduled for his next court appearance on December 12.
