MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Memphis Police officer was arrested on December 12, 2011 for having sex with a 14-year old girl.

MPD's Sex Crimes Bureau opened an investigation regarding the allegations. Investigators found that on January 26, 2011, 25-year-old Ericck Cain emailed nude pictures of himself to a 14-year-old girl. Investigators also discovered that in June of 2011, Cain and the victim were involved in a sexual relationship.

Ericck Cain was arrested and charged with Aggravated Statutory Rape and Exploitation of a Minor by Electronic Means.

"As Director of the Memphis Police Department, it is very disheartening to know that an officer has not only violated the law, but has also taken the innocence of a child. I will not tolerant this type of behavior from a member of my department and we will assist with the Attorney General’s Office in the prosecution of Cain”, stated Memphis Police Director Toney Armstrong in a department news release.

Cain has been employed with the MPD since June of 2009 and is currently relieved of duty pending the outcome of the investigation. He is currently being held without bond at the Shelby County Jail.

Ok, someone please help me understand this. What does any ADULT want with a CHILD. Theese teachers, firefighters, police officers, pastors and coaches all are suppose to protect our children from preditors like these, but it seems that the PROFESSIONALS that you're suppose to trust are the ones you'll have to watch out for. If it isn't for officers trying to kill people or have people killed and messing with young girls,I mean whats next ?!?!!

Officer Cain should hire AC Wharton as his lawyer. The Mayor was able to get his son AC III off with no charges after he raped a 13 year old girl.

absolutely revolting. I hope they make a major example out of this pathetic POS, to send a clear warning to society that it is NOT in any way OK to do something like this. 14 years old. . .gross. How in the hell do the lives of people who are 14 and 25 even cross in the 1st place?
