MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A police officer was cited for crashing into a utility pole in south Memphis early Wednesday morning.
The accident happened on South Parkway East near Kerr Avenue just after 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24. Investigators say MPD Officer Marcus Fayne was driving eastbound on South Parkway when he lost control of his police car and hit the curb, then ran over a yield sign and crashed into a utility pole.
Officer Fayne was transported to Methodist North in non-critical condition. He was issued a citation for Striking a Fixed Object and Violation of Seatbelt Laws.
