Memphis Police Investigating Two Weekend Homicides

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24com) - Two men were killed in separate shooting incidents over thee weekend, and the suspects are still at large in both cases.

Officers were called to the 700-block of N. Montgomery just after noon on Saturday, September 8. When they arrived on the scene, they found victim 23-year-old Dareus McKnuckles had been shot. He was transported to The MED but died a short time later. Investigators say the victim knew the person responsible, but the suspect is not yet in custody.

Police later responded to reports of an aggravated assault at Plum Avenue and Thomas Street in north Memphis around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday, September 9. Officers found a 40-year-old male victim, later identified as Aaron Vaughn, with multiple gunshot wounds lying between two cars. He was transported to The MED in critical condition and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. There are no suspects in custody.
