MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Memphis school bus drive is accused of the statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl.
The victim reported the incident to Memphis Police on February 4, 2012. According to the police affidavit, the girl told police 30-yerar-old Collier Smith picked her up from her home and drove her to southwest Memphis to have sex in his backseat. Smith was the victim's school bus driver.
Collier Smith admitted to investigators he had sex with the young girl, and was arrested for Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure. Smith is also suspended without pay by Durham School Services, which provides school bus transportation services for Memphis City Schools.
Smith is currently being held at the Shelby County Jail without bond; he is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 7.
