The people that are the most upset are those that would not euthanize an animal. I know I couldn't do it. I have no problem with Doctors making crude and offensive jokes about people who died. Its not easy to deal with death. With the little details offered it seems fairly obvious that they were acting perfectly normal for people for people who have to perform this work. I am far more worried about the people who do this who aren't emotionally disturbed. I am not saying its good to kill the animals how they did, just that its understandable that they did it. Am I wrong? are you saying that you could kill dogs and cats every day and not go a little nuts? I say lock up the people who do not sterilize their pets. OR make people who do not sterilize their pets euthanize unwanted animals at the shelter. Sorry but people who deal with death on a regular basis, (Doctors, soldiers, morticians) should be granted a bit of leniency for acting out.

He (It) won't get two years; it will be out in a few months, doing it AGAIN, & don't be surprised when they hire it back. Jail is not a deterrent those like...'it'; you just can not shame s*it........

I'm very disappointed that Elliot only got two years --it is, however, better than the actual possibility that they would get diversion and have these crimes ex-sponged from their records like it never even happened. I just want to make one point about the mayor of our city. Time after time, whenever there was proof of animal cruelty going on, Mayor Wharton claimed that tapes were edited and things were being "blown out of proportion". In fact, when the new shelter opened, in Wharton's speech he said he was completely supportive of the shelter staff and "we know what you have been through." I saw him make this comment, and of all people for him to look at while saying this, he looked right at Lightfoot --remember, the one who stood on a cat until it died? Our own beloved Mayor has betrayed the citizens (and animals) of our city.
