Memphis Teen, Officer Honored at Rose Parade

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Memphis teen received national recognition for giving the gift of life.

A floragraph of Lexie Davis was on the 'Donate Life' Rose Parade float. Lexie, who attended East High School, was only 17 when she died. Her family donated her organs, which saved at least seven people.

Another Mid-South hero was in California for the parade. Memphis police officer Melanie Medlock donated a kidney to help save the life of a friend. Officer Medlock helped finish decorating float before the parade.
