MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Dozens of Mid-Southerners will be in attendance at the inauguration of President Barack Obama in Washington, D.C. on Monday. One of those is Rev. Barbara Farmer-Tolbert of Memphis.

Tolbert said it's imperative she be there because it's apart of American History that re-affirms the lessons and encouraging words she and her husband have instilled in their kids.

"That they can be whatever they want to be and be better than great but they can be the greatest," she said.

For Tolbert the fact that the country's first black President won re-election is a message from above.

"God is telling us he can make possible what man has deemed to be impossible" she said. "You can dream beyond your dreams and reach whatever goals your heart desires."

Tolbert also plans to walk in the parade and attend one of the many balls that will take place.
