Vehicle inspections are a racket and generally a waste of time and money.

I am curious, though. Why did they change the diagnostic method? Another "contract?"

Good reporting, Mike Matthews! This is a ridiculous law. The flaw could be electronic/electrical and have no bearing on the quality of the exhaust being emitted from the vehicle. Cars should be tested for emission, not judged by something that could be erroneous. Some cars are very well known for their electrical problems and not necessarily their emissions. This hurts people with no definite benefit. Too much governing without a lot of common sense. Test actualy emissions! Not quality of electrical systems that could be malfunctioning!
