Cindy07 I agree, gang investigation takes a lot of work and very time consuming. Gangs are like a big corporatiion, they too have ceo's vp's etc....even to the point of having their on legal teams. You have to establish all of the gang marking, turf's etc.. As soon as you arrest these small timers there back out on the street in no time. To bad that Memphis doesn't have a system like the LAPD Gang Unit..

Rather than "contain" the gangs to a certain area, why not catch them and punish the bad guys. Gangs are everywhere; members are before you and you don't know it. Some try to operate as though they are legitimate but we then here of the unspeakable right in our neighborhood. We need to eliminate the need for youth to engage in gang activity. While we are at it, we need to enforce existing laws relative to loud, nuisance, bass volume reverberating music at any hour of the day or night. It is revolting and a "crackdown on that activity" might prove to be just as informative as the gang graffiti!! We won't discuss the sagging pants and the other less savory activity, which also needs to be addressed.

I just hope they don't just chase them to the areas outside of Memphis. keep them contained so they are going to go cause trouble in other neighborhoods. the minors will just get spray paint cans anyway just like they do cigs and beer
