Mid-South Cops Hone Shooting Skills in Sniper School

A select few Mid-South cops are spending the week honing their skills in sniper school. It's training officers hope they never have to use, but if they are forced to take aim, missing is not an option.

@ libertyfirst: you crack me up, every story they post about law enforcement you have some snide jack-booted-thug comment to make. do you honestly think that there are no good police officers out there? If you can't say anything nice...

And to 'be the eyes of the police department' - utilizing a scoped weapon to surveil a suspect or position, requires that one of the primary rules of firearm safety be broken - 'DO NOT POINT YOUR WEAPON AT ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY'. They do make binoculars and spotting scopes, but that isn't as cool as a black rifle. But by their very training, these rogues are acting unsafely. But it's ok if you are wearing the appropriate government costume, isn't it.....

Drug cases require snipers? These are violent people. I mean the cops.
