Um, So Haven, Welfare doesn't exist in that form anymore. The maximum a person can draw TANF is six months and the requirements vary from state to state. TANF is mainly for families who have run out of other options, like unemployment benefits. Apparently some believe that there are millions of jobs just waiting for people. An education is a terrible thing to waste, So Haven!

And it is no coincidence that all of the worst are in mostly high welfare states. Relying on the government cheese does not make for a proper diet. Plus you can sit on your couch all day, not having to work or contribute to society, so exercise is non-existent as well.
