That's nice if we never have another fire but with that line of thinking why do we even need a fire dept. why don't we all just be careful and never have any more fires so we won't have to pay firefighters with tax dollars let's go a step further and be careful and not have any accidents so we won't have to waste tax dollars on an EMS system or here's a more realistic idea let's not pay Kip Conrad and boot him out of office for suggesting we put our kids in harm's way. He would be the first weasel Politian wanting a ladder truck if his house were on fire but he does not care about a school full of kids people need to protest this jerk. I guess the money they save doing this will go to a nice hefty raise for city council. Instead of the safety of the community. We pay firefighters for the “WHAT IF” scenarios that no one else wants to do. In a perfect world we would not need Police, Fire, EMS, or a City Council to make bonehead decisions like this but we don’t so I sleep better knowing that the fire dept. is there “If the fit hits the shan” Only someone that cares about himself would suggest a stupid move like this!

I'm not fired up about it. Listen to these whiners try to pose as a majority of Midtowners. I WAS BORN HERE! Were you?
