MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Millington Mayor Richard Hodges entered a plea of not guilty, Friday, November 18, 2011, in a Shelby County criminal courtroom. In October 2011, Hodges was indicted by a grand jury on two counts of bribery.

Hodges' trouble began in July 2011, when the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation raided the Mayor's home, a Millington transmission shop, City Hall and other city offices.

After the indictment, Hodges turned in a letter of retirement effective January 2012.

He is scheduled to be back in court January 5, 2012.
