i am the fifteen year old boy now sixteen saying that it was not just bad for the butts family... this affected my life majorly because what alot of people didnt know is that we did get out of the car to see if he was alright, seeing a motionless body after he came through the window wasnt the best thing in the world for us to see. it was almost like reaction to get in the car and drive off even though it wasnt right. now one of my best friends is in jail and i have images in my head that will never go away and sometimes i just want to say sorry a million times to the butts family but cant because im afraid they will kill me. and i can not blame them cause i had my dad recently pass away and i know how it can hurt. i wanted to let the butts family know that i saw the whole thing and i was there and most importantly we did not plan it out to do anything like that that night. and it was not because he was black because we had more friends that were colored than u can count... it was a brutal thing and i dont know how im going to tell my daughter that was actually recently borin in october... it was a scary morning wen john butts was killed because i thought i would never see my daughter and never live a regular teenage life again...

It was an AWFUL accident & I feel horrible for the Butts family..but the fact that the media is calling it a hate crime is absurd! JUST bc the boy was white & the victim was black. Whit Darby is NO racist & YES he made a mistake that will forever affect his life. He should have stopped but keep in mind he is a young kid & I'm sure he was scared to death. The media will make even the best people look like the devil.. but you should keep both families in your prayers and STOP trying to be God & judge w/out knowing anything about Darby or what REALLY happened. God is the only one who has that right & he is a very forgiving God.
