Memphis, TN -- Held against her will and forced to have sex for money, a 15-year-old's trip to a local roller skating ring turned into a 5-day nightmare.
"My daughter was at the skate ring and she was suppose to be going to a party with kids her age," said the mom, who wished to remain anonymous because her daughter is the alleged victim of a sex crime.
The mom says Lilmikea Hunter, 19, befriended her daughter at a local staking ring and then invited her to sleep over. After not hearing from her daughter, the mom says she called police.
According to the mom, on Christmas Eve, her daughter called and told her she was being held against her will. According to court records, the daughter told her mom to pretend to bring her clothing to the 4600-block of Knight Arnold.
The mom, with police in tow, showed up, and Hunter was arrested.
According to court records, Hunter told police she knew the 15-year-old was, "engaging in sexual activity with multiple acquaintances."
"It is a crime that is larger then most people realize," said Ryan Dalton with Operation Broken Silence, a local non-profit that works with victims of sex trafficking crimes.
Dalton said he isn't surprised that the suspect allegedly used a location like a skating ring to meet potential victims.
"In order to gain the trust of the girl, they will approach them in a place where they are comfortable, a skating ring, maybe a mall," he said.
Hunter remained in the Shelby County Jail Monday night, charged with Trafficking for Sexual Servitude. Her first court appearance is set for Dec. 27.
