JACKSON, TN (abc24.com) - The man accused of starting a deadly night club fight in Jackson, Tennessee is now facing harsher charges.
The grand jury indicted Travis Steed for First Degree Murder, Felony Murder and Attempted Murder. Steed was initially only charged with Aggravated Assault.
Police say the convicted felon opened fire inside Club Karma last February after getting into a fight. Two men returned fire. A total of 17 people were shot, including Steed.
LeCarlos Todd of Memphis died from his injures. The TBI Crime Lab has now confirmed a bullet from Steed's gun killed Todd.
Steed is currently serving a 12-year prison sentence in Tiptonville for cocaine possession. He was out on parole at the time of the murder.
The District Attorney's office will file a motion to have steed brought to Madison County for a formal arraignment.
