MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Two people are dead in an apparent murder-suicide outside an east Memphis business Tuesday morning.
Police were called to ServiceMaster on Ridge Lake Blvd near Poplar Ave and I-240 around 7 a.m. on April 10. Officers found a male and female victim with gunshot wounds; both were pronounced dead on the scene.
Investigators stated the man fatally shot the woman then shot himself in an apparent domestic situation. The victims' identities have not been released, but the female victim was employed by ServiceMaster.
The company released the following statement:
We are deeply saddened by the tragic event that occurred this morning in the parking lot of one of our Memphis corporate campus buildings during which one of our female associates, and another man, were fatally shot. The associate’s name has not been released pending the police investigation.
Our condolences and prayers are with the associate’s family and we are fully cooperating with the Memphis Police Department’s investigation.
Right now, we’re focusing on supporting the associate’s family, her co-workers and all of our ServiceMaster associates. We have arranged to have grief counselors on site today for our associates.
