"I had to watch him lay on the ground for over 2 hours before they even picked the body up," said Stevie Moore.

Stevie Moore's son Prentice was killed 9 years ago outside a nightclub in Southeast Memphis.

He was killed by an A-K 47 assault rifle, the same type of gun President Obama proposed banning.

He was killed by an AK-47, the same type of gun President Obama proposed banning.

"What do you need those guns for when we got military to protect us that use those type of guns, police department, they use those type of guns but what do an ordinary citizen need that type of gun for?" he asked.

Moore supports President Obama's stance on gun control, especially cracking down on stolen guns and prosecuting people who use them.

"The gun that killed my son was more than likely a stolen gun. I don't have no knowledge where that gun is, that gun may have killed 3 or 4 more people," said Moore.

After his son's death, Moore started an organization called "Stop the Killing" to educate others about gun violence.

"Sometimes you have a gun on you, it makes you cocky, a little more powerful," he said.

He believes President Obama's plan will prevent other parents from having to see their child's body on the street.

"We have to learn how to mend, forgive, and keep our life going and teach that it's wrong to harm people period," said Stevie Moore.

If the ban passes, when do all the thugs who have these guns illegally have to start turning them in?

If making guns illegal will take them off the street, we should make meth and heroine illegal too.

Mr. Moore, I mourn your loss. But, all the gun contorl measures in the world WILL NOT cure an evil person. The gun that was used was almost for sure stolen. That is against the law.Evil people do evil things. If it takes a hammer or ball bat, they will still do their evil deeds.the answer is in enforcing the existing laws without a "deal" being cut for an easy conviction. Try them, lock them up and let the maggots serve ALL of their sentence.
