JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - National Transportation Safety Board investigators headed to Jackson, Miss., early Wednesday to inspect the wreckage at a house where a small plane crashed, killing the three people aboard the plane and igniting a huge fire.
The NTSB says investigators would meet with local police and firefighters and with officials from the manufacturer of the Piper PA-32 that slammed into the house Tuesday.
Authorities have not identified the three victims but the plane's owner identified one of them as flight instructor John Edward Tilton Jr.
Milton Miller, the nephew of Loretta Jamison, says his aunt was being treated at a burn center in Rankin County for burns on her hands suffered when she fled the house. He says his aunt was in the back of the house when the plane hit.
