Nebraska Fugitive Caught Robbing Memphis Bank

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis officers arrested a wanted fugitive for the robbery of a BancorpSouth Bank on December 2, 2011.

The suspect entered the bank, located at 7800 Winchester, posing as a customer and demanded money from the teller. He then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. Officers with the Safe Streets Task Force located the suspect, 43-year old Trent Nitzel, on the 1900-block of East Brooks Rd. He was taken into custody without incident.

Investigators found that Nitzel is also wanted in Nebraska for Bank Robbery. He faces federal charges and will be transferred into the custody of U.S. Marshals.
