New Memphis Convention Center Could Cost $600M

Mayor A C Wharton says Memphis will need a new convention center to keep lucrative conventions in city. The cost of a new center will be twice the cost of the FedExForum.

If Memphrica wants a new convention center to succeed, I suggest that they build it in another city!

Until Memphis has competitive airfares, they can forget attracting any major convention to Memphis. Save the money...... Also, Memphis is located in a disdvantaged area..... New Orleans, Atlanta, and St. Louis are all more attractive to conventions....
