MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - People packed Memphis Heritage to get answers about the abandoned French Quarter Inn at Overton Square.

The Midtown building has been vacant for more than six years. The new owners showed residents their plans for the building. Two Memphians bought the property, and will turn it into a Comfort Suites hotel. They said it will be like no other hotel in the country.

"This is not a low budget hotel, it's actually a new one that they're coming out with and we think it'll work in that area because of the redevelopment," said owner Rischi Chopra. "There's so much going on there, we just want to contribute to that."

Construction is expected to begin sometime in April.
