"nomcery" is a bit too homophobic to be entirely straight himself. I'm thinking there are some unresoloved sexuality issues there. Congratulations, Memphis. With the passing of this ordinance, you have moved into the 1990's. Next stop, 21st century! Progress!

nomercy, methinks you protest too much, amigo. I don't care if you agree or disagree with me, that's your business. You just don't have the right to ensconse your biases and bigotry into law discriminating against other people. Pretty simple concept. Doesn;t matter in the long run anyway, anti-gay prejudice is dying a slow death. Young people as a rule don't have a problem with gay people and the older people who do are dying out. I have 3 kids and they aren't going to care one whit about all this anti-gay cr@p. They're growing up ok with the idea and concept of...yes, tolerance. You should try it sometime.

And just when I thought nomercy couldn’t appear any more bigoted or childish, he proves me wrong with his homophobic rhetoric and infantile insults. Although, what should I expect from someone with zero ability to spell or horrible use of proper grammar, punctuation and syntax. You make Memphis proud with your lack of education and your pride in your own bigotry. Enjoy your minimum wage job. But you’re right, we should show tolerance to hateful members of the community like you. You are the TRUE victims here.

I don’t like red-headed people. I think they're disgusting, and their freckles and pale skin freak me out. Also, due to my lack of education, I believe red-heads have no soul. It shouldn’t be illegal for me to fire or discriminate against them due to my own biased and uneducated opinions. In fact, there should be laws in place that protect my right express my negative opinions. Does all that sound entirely illogical and ridiculous? That’s because it is. Fact of the matter, the thought of two men together creeps me out. But as a logical person, I’m smart enough to know I can’t (or shouldn’t) vote to discriminate against an entire class of people just so I don’t feel uncomfortable. You don’t like violence on TV? Change the channel, don’t go making everything PG rated because of your own sensitivities.

Welcome samclemens! It's refreshing to see the opinions of someone on here who isn't a moron.

Oh sure, you're entitled to your opinion, you're just not entitled to enact your bigotry into law. you can personally hate homosexuality all you want. In fact, you can obsess over it if you want to. MOst other people, like me, think about this issue as a non-event and go on with our lives.
