NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A judge has dismissed trespassing and other citations against Occupy Nashville protesters and ordered their records expunged.
Fifty-five people were arrested on Oct. 28 and 29 after the state instituted a curfew on the grounds around the state Capitol. The curfew was used to disperse protesters who had been camping at Legislative Plaza for about three weeks.
Two days later, the state backed down, announcing that it would not enforce the curfew and offering no opposition when a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order.
On Thursday, Gov. Bill Haslam said through a spokesman that he would ask prosecutors to drop the charges.
After a brief Monday morning hearing, protester Ron White said he was looking forward to refocusing on the group's goal of getting the money out of politics.
