One Dead in I-240 Accident

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis police were on the scene of an accident where a victim was thrown from his vehicle and reportedly robbed of his wallet.

Officers were called to an accident near Millbranch Road and I-240 around 2 p.m. on Monday, August 27. According to reports from the scene, a man involved in the accident was killed when he thrown from the vehicle. Responding officers were informed that the victim may have been robbed by an unknown suspect at the scene of the accident, but investigators have not confirmed that with ABC24 News.

Memphis police had shut down I-240 eastbound, re-routing traffic at Millbranch, as investigators cleared the scene. Traffic was re-opened around 4:30 p.m.

The victim's identity and the circumstances surrounding the accident have not yet been released. No other injuries were reported.
