MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - One person was shot near Hamilton High School Tuesday evening.
Memphis police responded to reports of shots fired near the school at E Person Ave and Pillow St just after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8. An 18-year-old male victim was found with a gunshot wound and was transported to The MED in critical condition. The victim's identity has not been released, but a spokesperson for Memphis City Schools stated he was not a student.
The suspect was last seen running northbound on Pillow St. Investigators say they know the suspect's identity but he is not yet in custody.
The shooting occurred during an event at Hamilton High School, but did not happen on school property.
