Pilot Killed in Fayette County Crash Identified

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities have identified the pilot who was killed in the crash of a single-engine plane in Fayette County.

The county's sheriff's office says 51-year-old Rickie Charles Vaughn of Arlington died when the Cirrus SR 20 aircraft he was flying crashed shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday in a field near Moscow in West Tennessee.

Arlington is a suburb of Memphis. Moscow is located about 35 miles east of Memphis.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
