MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Pinnacle Airlines announced plans to lay off over 150 employees in Memphis on December 19, 2011. The layoffs come after the announcement of a reduced flight schedule by Delta.
According to a company statement, 18 full-time and 136 part-time employees with PinnPro ground operations at Memphis International would be affected. Seven of those positions are managers.
There could be fewer layoffs, depending on attrition between now and when the new flight schedule begins on Jan. 4. PinnPro offers ground services for 16 U.S. airlines, which includes gate agents, baggage handlers, aircraft cleaners and commissary agents.
PinnPro currently has 560 ground operations employees at Memphis International Airport.
