MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A man fleeing from police got caught up in some vines and then arrested on Wednesday, October 5, 2011.
An affidavit says police were attempting to pull over 26-year-old Vincent Turner after clocking him driving 74 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone. After pulling over and then taking off when the officer got out of his car, Turner led cops on a high-speed chase that ended when he crashed into a telephone pole.
Turner got out of the car and ran, leaving behind the three passengers who were in his car.
Turner ran behind a house in the 1100 block of Sylvan where he got caught up in some vines and arrested.
Police learned that turner had a suspended license and outstanding warrants for escaping misdemeanor arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
Turner was also charged with reckless driving, speeding and evading arrest.
