MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - I give you money, you give me sex. It's harsh and straight to the point, and that's what Memphis cops say some creep is telling kids. They're on the lookout and they want parents on alert as well.
“They should be concerned, we want parents to talk to their kids about the dangers,” Lt. Wilton Cleveland told abc24.com.
The very real dangers, Cleveland told abc24.com, come from some sicko out there lurking, looking for sex from kids.
“He's driving up in his vehicle, a couple times offered money for sex, or done a simulated sexual activity, he's tried to lure the boys into the car,” said Cleveland.
This creep has approached at least five boys. Each time in the mornings near Hamilton Middle or Melrose High.
“There's some real sick people out here like that,” said Melrose student Devin Burns.
No doubt Burns is right about that. That's the main reason his grandmother keeps a close eye on him. She'll also be on the lookout for the purple, 2-door Chevy police say this guy is driving.
“I will be looking for that purple car. I will be,” said Nancy Henderson.
If police track this guy down he could face attempted rape charges.
