Police Standoff at Whitehaven Apartment Complex

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis Police called the TACT Unit to a Whitehaven apartment complex after a shooting suspect locked himself inside a residence.

Officers responded to a shooting call at The Birches apartments off Winchester and Graceland Drive around 8:30am on February 6, 2012. Police saw a man armed with a gun run into his apartment, who then refused to come out.

According to reports at the scene, there is nobody else in the apartment with the suspect and no injuries have been reported.

The suspect was taken into custody around 6:00pm.
