Police Still Searching for Attempted Rape Suspect

¬MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis Police say the man accused of trying to rape a woman during a home invasion in the Frayser area is still at large.

Officers responded to a home invasion on the 2000-block of Pueblo Avenue just after 5:30pm on January 10, 2012. When they arrived on the scene, a woman told police the suspect had tried to rape her during the home invasion.

Investigators state the suspect knocked on the victim's door asking for someone else. When she said that person didn't live there, the suspect hit her repeatedly, forced his way into the home and tried to rape her. The victim fought off the suspect and he fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male with a light complexion about 6'1", 200 lbs, and last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark jacket. Anyone with information on the identity of this suspect is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274).
