Nice to see all you key-board commando's throwing your 2 cents in on a subject you know nothing about. You should be thankful that there are still people out there that sign up for that line of work. All you care about is complaining about the extremely small % of officers who do bad things & give the profession a black eye. What about the other 99% of police officers who carry out there jobs on a daily basis with integrity & honor? They face the worst side of humanity on a daily basis and even though they know about this going into the job sometimes they need help when the things they witness just become too much to deal with. Maybe some of you would like to trade places with an officer for a day?...Yeah, I didn't think so.

Must be tough. I'd suffer PTSD as well if my job was stealing from productive peaceful people and harassing them for victimless 'crimes'.

this is people's livelihood. i'm not so sure everybody is beating the doors down in order to have an opportunity to come serve in memphis. i'm not for compensating everything under the sun. people simply need to take care of those that are taking care of them. i'm sure it's going to be real funny when somebody comes face to face with bubba and has to be two faced hollering for help.

One thing missing from this is the combat vets that are not de-programmed then hired on and given a gun in a non-wartime environment. http://original.antiwar.com/vlahos/2010/04/26/killer-cocktail/

I would say the worst element is that which threatens thier lives and leaves families without fathers or mothers who went to work one day and never returned home. Corruption, lying, and racketeering are all crimes but the worst elemnts are those which leave heroes dead.

is an awful lot on memphis policeman. you can't expect a human being to wade knee deep in corruption, lying, and racket, without it having an impact on people. no reflection on the police dept. just a reflection on the worst element in the city that they have to deal with every day.
