Public Workers Collect Food for Memphis Families

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP, abc24.com) - The local union of state, county and municipal employees in Shelby County is holding a food drive for the benefit of hungry Memphis families.

Members of Local 1733 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees will be collecting food for holiday baskets that will be delivered to 150 homes across the city on Wednesday.

The union represents thousands of public servants, including sanitation workers and correctional officers across Shelby County.
