Raleigh Fatal Shooting Victim Identified

MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis Police have identified the young man fatally shot in the Raleigh area Wednesday night as any suspects in the case remain at large.

Officers were called to a shooting at Chaucer Lane and Fieldcrest Avenue just before 10 p.m. on March 7. When they arrived on the scene, they were told that the victim was taken by private vehicle and was standing by at the Walgreen's on Stage Road at Covington Pike. There, police located two victims with gunshot wounds and both were transported to The MED.

21-year-old Donald Richard was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other victim, a 20-year-old male, has since been released.

So far no arrests have been made. Anyone with information on this case is urged to call CrimeStoppers at (901) 528-CASH (2274).

Yet another senseless death. BTW, I live in this area and Chaucer and Fieldcrest is very near the Bartlett/Memphis border, not "Raleigh area" at all. Just saying.

True BC but n...... coming from the mouth of a white person still makes me cringe. It's my older generation I suppose. I'd prefer to see the lowest elements of society be less low than to have concentrated areas of them. The reality of the situation is, however, that the more that our nation's wealth becomes concentrated to a tinier portion of the population, the more there will be extreme poverty and crime. As the nation's middle class disappears, so does the ladder for people to get out of extreme poverty.
