MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis police arrested a man convicted of a sex crime involving a child after he was found living with 7 children, none of which were his own.

According to the police affidavit, 34-year-old James Moore was convicted of aggravated indecent liberties with a child in Kansas in October 2001. When he reported to the parole and probation board this past June, he registered his residence as a home in Cordova.

Officers investigating a case involving Moore found he was living with 7 minors that were not his biological children, which is a violation of sex offender laws. The document did not state whether the children belonged to another resident at the home.

James Moore was booked at the Shelby County Jail on Thursday, November 1 and charged with 7 counts of violating sex offender residential & work restrictions. He is being held on $35,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court November 9.

@bart0... If that book we all check saves one person its worth the $500,000,000 to me. I personally like being aware of sex offenders living close to my home. I have a 4 year old. Would you let your child live with him? I mean its not a crime. Hes just a registered sex offender and all. I sure wouldnt.

So he did not commit any new sex offence but violated some registration rule? This registry doesn't sound very constitutional. Are drunk drivers not allowed in restaurants, bars or homes with alcohol? Are drug dealers allowed in homes with medicine cabinets? Are murderers allowed around people? Sex offender laws are just another way to hose the taxpayer. Sex offender management is big business. That photo album we all check costs us $500,000,000 per year. Did it protect the victims of Sandusky? It is worthless. Now we are going to spend $30,000 per year to lock up someone who committed no new crime. The right to defy an unconstitutional statute is basic in our scheme. Even when an ordinance requires a person to register his whereabouts. One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws.

Execute the monster. Taxpayers should not have to pay to feed his butt a anytime whatsoever. I am tired of paying for people like him who are put in jail only to be turned loose because there is not enough room. Prohibition didn't work, and neither is making drugs illegal either. People will do what they want no matter what. Making it illegal only makes it more attractive!!!
