MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis Police have identified human remains found in South Memphis as a 51-year old grandmother reported missing three years ago.

Skeletal remains were found on the 600-block of E McLemore near Mississippi Blvd on November 17, 2011. The Medical Examiner's office positively identified the remains as those of Valois Jones Dunlap, last seen on December 31, 2008. She was reported missing after she never showed up at a daycare to pick up her grandchildren. Her burned-out car was found at an abandoned South Memphis apartment a few days after she was reported missing.

The cause of death has not yet been determined.

Such a sad story, may she rest in peace now. Whoever did this to her should feel ashamed. May her family find some comfort in finding her and being able to give her a proper resting place. My condolences to her loved ones.
