COLLIERVILLE, TN (abc24.com) - Officials with the Town of Collierville are urging newly annexed residents to wait "a couple of days" to vote until a problem with the Municipal Schools referendum on their ballots is resolved.
Richard Holden with the Shelby County Election Commission confirmed that the referendum item to vote on Collierville starting its own school district was not appearing on ballots in the newly annexed areas.
Collierville residents headed to the polls are urged to notify a polling official immediately if the Municipal School District item does not appear on their ballot.
Collierville administrators are working with the Election Commission to correct the problem at all early voting locations as soon as possible.
