September Trial Date Set for Municipal Schools

A federal judge has set a September 4th trial date to determine if it violates the state's Constitution for Shelby County's suburban municipalities to create their own school districts.

...and if Memphis operated an illegal school system all those years, shouldn't taxpayers and students have a legal cause of action against the city?

It would be very interesting to see if he rules against the suburbs for wanting their own school districts as being unconstitutional since that would mean Memphis had been operating unconstitutional school district the entire time when they voted to seperate from the SCS over 40 years ago. So my question-what changed so Memphis was school district constitutional and the other cities cannot be?
