MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A registered sex offended was arraigned Monday after he was arrested for hosting an alcohol and drug-fueled "lingerie party" for minors.
43-year-old Charles Smith, a violent sex offender, was arrested on Feb. 26. Investigators say he owns the building in the 3600-block of Mendenhall where cops checked out a nuisance complaint. Officers found drugs, alcohol, and kids having sex.
Smith was convicted of sexual battery against a 13-year-old in 1997.
He's now charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and violating sex offender restrictions.
Smith is out of jail on $5,000 bond. He's due back in court on March 9.
