MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Fugitive Division officer for the Shelby County Sheriff's Office is off the job after a domestic assault arrest early Sunday morning.

Memphis police responded to a domestic violence call on the 6500-block of Ballantrace Court just before 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 9. A woman told officers she had gotten into a fight with the daughter of her boyfriend, 44-year-old Anthony Lee, and was hit in the face several times. When she went to retaliate, she said Lee and his sons stepped in to separate them so Lee's daughter could leave, according to the police affidavit.

After the woman called police, Lee grabbed her by her neck, pushed her down and took the phone from her. Both the victim and Lee stated they had been drinking earlier and alcohol was a factor in the incident.

Anthony Lee was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault. He has worked for the Shelby County Sheriff's Office for 20 years and currently works for the Fugitive Division. Lee has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
