How many from the disbanded Memphis City School board are still being paid after they voluntarily gave up their school system?

What makes you think that the people chosen to run the municipal school systems will even know what they are doing? What's the plan? What makes you think teachers will leave Shelby County and go with this new system? It is not very responsible to vote on a referendum when no one knows what the plan will be and what kind of burden it will put on tax payers. This is just nuts!

@Tma-Good point and I would also add, where was the SCSS at when Memphis was seeking to disband their City Council while seeking to deny the suburbs right to vote since it would also impact us as well?

I know I HATE it when people actually try to control their own lives!

Where was this commision when Memphis quit an put this burden on the rest of the county. The only funding the SCSS would lose is IF the suburban cities vote for their own school system. Even then they will receive funding to serve the children in their system. There is nothing racial about this if any one actually looks at the facts; it's about having a responsible and accountable school system!
