MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Officers are searching for a Shelby County inmate who walked away from a work detail in south Memphis.
25-year-old Tommy Lee Hodges was part of a 7–man crew to cut grass and pick up trash at the abandoned Rose Hill Cemetery off Elvis Presley Boulevard. A supervisor noticed him missing from the cemetery just before 11:00am on January 31, 2012.
Hodges is African-American, stands 5’7” tall, weighs 175 pounds and has long braids. He was wearing a light blue, long-sleeved shirt with the letters “SCCC” in yellow across the back. The sides of his blue jeans were also trimmed with the yellow letters. Hodges also has two tattoos, the word "VALLEY" is on his right arm ad “RIP” on his left arm.
Hodges was serving a 3-year sentence for burglary and was eligible for parole this April.
