MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Six people were sent to the hospital after an early morning shooting at a Beale Street club.
Around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2011, Memphis Police officers heard gunshots behind Club Crave, formerly known as the Plush Club.
They found five male victims with gunshot wounds behind the club on 380 Beale Street. Two were taken to area hospitals in critical condition. The other three were taken in non-critical condition.
While investigating, officers ran into an armed female suspect firing shots behind the club. When asked to put the gun down she refused and pointed it at officers. The officers then shot her. She was taken to The MED in critical condition.
At this time, investigators are unsure of the motive.
No officers were injured. The two involved in the shooting have been relieved of duty with pay pending the outcome of the investigation. The officers' names have not been released.
