MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP, abc24.com) - Heavy rain is falling as a slow-moving cold front slogs its way northeastward across Tennessee.

Forecaster Scott McNeil at the Memphis office of the National Weather Service said the system has dropped generally 4 inches to 5 inches of rain in counties along the Mississippi River and most all of West Tennessee is under either a flood warning or a flood watch.

The rain is pushing into Middle Tennessee as well and the northwestern corner of the region around Land Between the Lakes and Clarksville has been accumulating rainfall.

The temperature is dropping behind the front, but McNeil sees little chance of ice or snow.
